Lee A. Hutton, III originates from Galveston, Texas where he was a highly recruited football and track athlete. He was awarded a scholarship to play football in the Big Ten with the Minnesota Gopher Football team. Upon the end of his eligibility, Hutton participated in NFL and AFL tryouts. Afterwards, he entered law school and became one of the top attorneys in Minnesota and also handled cases around the county. He is no stranger to high stakes litigation specializing in trial litigation with emphasis on business litigation, complex litigation, commercial litigation, securities litigation, insurance defense, products liability, construction, employment, environmental, sports and entertainment law.
Hutton was also a sports agent for the NFL, NBA, WNBA and other sports representing athletes in contract negotiation, publicity rights, endorsement contracts, and post play realities. His clientele includes Superbowl Champions, NBA Champions, Olympic Champions, and Reality TV personalities. During this time, Lee has tried more than 100 cases and has been named “Attorney of the Year” for his trial litigation work. He has also received several awards and recognition such as Forty Under 40, Up and Coming Attorney, Above the Fold, Distinguished Alumni, and has been named Super Lawyer and Rising Star every year since 2007.
As a frequent guest lecturer, Lee regularly provides media analysis on entertainment, sports, and litigation topics for local, national, and international media. He has appeared on international and national TV, including such outlets as BBC Network, Court TV, Daily Mail, Life & Style Magazine, People and TMZ. Lee has also been found on his radio spot, “Sports in the Courts."
Ultimately, Hutton is no stranger to sports management and seeks this opportunity as AFL Commissioner to deliver entertainment to the die hard pig skin enthusiast.
